Banana Canoes
Ingredients
1 Ripe banana
½ pound of Ground meat
1 Minced garlic
Achiote
¼ cup of Tomato sauce
½ cup of Water
Seedless olives
Cheese
Preparation
Step 1 : In a pot, pour in the ground meat and cook over medium or low heat, stirring to keep it loose.
Step 2 : Once cooked, add the sauté, garlic, olives, and seasoning, cooking for a few minutes.
Step 3 : Then add the tomato sauce and ½ cup of water, cover, and continue cooking over medium heat for 15 minutes.
Step 4 : The next step is to peel the banana and make a deep, oval-shaped cut along the side that has the canoe shape, without cutting all the way through.
Step 5 : In a hot skillet with enough oil, fry the whole banana over medium heat until golden.
Step 6 : Once ready, remove and place on absorbent paper to drain.
Step 7 : After letting the banana cool, fill it with the meat mixture using a mold and cover with cheese of your choice. And it's ready to enjoy!
