Curtido for Pupusas
Ingredients
½ Shredded white cabbage
1 Grated carrot
½ Chopped onion
½ cup of Apple cider vinegar
¼ cup of Water
1 teaspoon of Dried oregano
½ teaspoon of Ground cumin
1 pinch of Salt
1 pinch of Pepper
Preparation
Step 1 : In a large bowl, mix the shredded cabbage, grated carrot, and chopped onion.
Step 2 : In another container, combine the apple cider vinegar, water, dried oregano, ground cumin, salt, and pepper.
Step 3 : Then, pour the vinegar mixture over the cabbage and carrot mixture.
Step 4 : It's important to mix well to ensure all ingredients are coated with the vinegar.
Step 5 : Next, cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until the cabbage and carrot soften slightly.
Step 6 : Before serving, mix the curtido and drain any excess liquid.
