Ingredients

1 Panela sugar

Cinnamon sticks

½ tablespoon of Allspice

5 Plantains

Preparation

Step 1 : Peel the plantains and cut them into medium-sized pieces.

Step 2 : In a pot, add water and the cinnamon sticks and allspice to taste.

Step 3 : Cook until boiling.

Step 4 : Once boiling, add the panela sugar, cover the pot, and cook over low heat until completely dissolved, around 10 minutes.

Step 5 : Add the plantains, stir, and cook for 15 minutes with the pot covered, or until cooked.

Step 6 : Remove the cover, let it dry slightly until it reaches a honey-like consistency, which may take another 10 minutes.

Step 7 : When it acquires a caramel color, turn off the heat and serve the plantains drizzled with the honey.
