Horchata de Ajonjolí
Ingredients
1 cup of Sesame seeds
1 cup of Milk
3 cups of Water
Vanilla
Sugar
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare horchata de ajonjolí, first toast the seeds carefully in a skillet to prevent them from browning too much.
Step 2 : Once toasted, let them cool in a wide container.
Step 3 : Next, place the toasted seeds in the blender along with the milk and water, and blend until no whole seeds remain in the mixture.
Step 4 : Then, strain the mixture using a fine sieve or a colander cloth to extract as much horchata as possible.
Step 5 : Finally, add sugar to taste and vanilla (optional) to the strained horchata.
Step 6 : To enjoy this refreshing drink, serve it cold.
Step 7 : You can also prepare a thick porridge by adding cornstarch and boiling the mixture until it thickens.
