½ pound of Rice

½ pound of Sesame

½ pound of Peanut or groundnut

½ pound of Pepitoria

½ pound of Cacao seeds

1 pound of Morro

2 ounces of Cinnamon

2 Nutmeg seeds

2 ounces of Culantro seeds

10 Allspice seeds

Preparation

Step 1 : To prepare an authentic Salvadoran Horchata, first toast each ingredient separately on a comal until golden.

Step 2 : Then, combine all toasted ingredients and grind them until you get a smooth mixture.

Step 3 : For the Horchata drink, mix the ground mixture with water and milk, then strain and sweeten to taste.
