Sesame Horchata Fresco
Ingredients
1 cup of Sesame seeds
1 cup of Milk
3 cups_plural of Water
Vanilla
Sugar
Preparation
Step 1 : Toast the sesame seeds on a griddle or large skillet, taking care not to let them brown too much so they don't become bitter.
Step 2 : After toasting, let them cool on a baking sheet or large container.
Step 3 : In a blender, combine the toasted sesame seeds with milk and water (or just water, according to taste).
Step 4 : Blend until no whole seeds remain.
Step 5 : Next, strain the mixture through a fine sieve or a straining cloth to extract the most horchata possible.
Step 6 : Finally, add sugar to taste and vanilla (if desired) to the extracted horchata.
Step 7 : Ready to enjoy!
