Salvadoran Chicken Chao Mein

Ingredients

1 Packet of chao mein

1 Large onion sliced into julienne strips

1 Green chili sliced into julienne strips

1 Carrot sliced into julienne strips

1 cup of Teaspoon of soy sauce

1 Chayote sliced into julienne strips

1 cup of Broccoli cut into small florets

1 cup of Chinese green beans

1 pound of Chicken

2 Chopped hearts of palm

2 Garlic cloves

1 pinch of Salt

Preparation

Step 1 : Start by crushing the garlic and adding it to a pot with water on the stove.

Step 2 : Place the chicken in the pot and cook, adding salt to taste.

Step 3 : Once cooked, set aside.

Step 4 : Reserve half a cup of the chicken cooking water and cook the chao mein in the remaining water until al dente.

Step 5 : Drain and cool with ice water to stop the cooking process.

Step 6 : In a saucepan with a teaspoon of oil, sauté the vegetables, celery, chili, and onion until al dente.

Step 7 : Add one cup of chicken broth and let it boil for about three minutes.

Step 8 : Then add the chicken, chao mein, soy sauce, teaspoon of soy, and consomé.

Step 9 : Mix everything until all the flavors are incorporated.

Step 10 : Let it cook for approximately three minutes and remove from heat.

Step 11 : Ready to enjoy.
