Ingredients

Salvadoran Macaroni

1 pound of Macaroni

1 pound of Ground beef, chicken, or pork

1 can of Tomato sauce

½ cup of Chopped onion

2 tablespoons of Chopped parsley

4 Basil leaves

2 Garlic

1 liter of Water

1 pinch of Salt

1 pinch of Pepper

Oil

Margarine

Grated cheese

Preparation

Step 1 : In a large pot with water, salt, and oil, boil the macaroni for 15 minutes until al dente, then drain and rinse with cold water.

Step 2 : In a skillet with a bit of oil, cook the ground meat with chopped garlic, salt, and pepper until it releases its juice, then set aside.

Step 3 : In the same skillet, sauté the onion with a little margarine until transparent, then add the tomato sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.

Step 4 : Add the cooked meat to the sauce, then stir in the chopped parsley and basil, cooking everything together for 10-15 minutes to meld the flavors.

Step 5 : Finally, mix the macaroni with the meat and tomato sauce, adjust the salt and pepper, and serve topped with grated cheese and parsley for garnish.
