1 Chilacayote

Lime lixivium

2 cups of Water

Brown sugar tapa candy

Preparation (simple version)

Step 2 : Wash the chilacayote well and let it drain to dry. Chilacayote Sweet - Preparation - Step 2
Step 3 : Cook in a deep container, adding the tapa candy in pieces and 2 cups of water, simmering for 12 hours without sticking. Chilacayote Sweet - Preparation - Step 3

Preparation

Step 1 : Peel and cut the chilacayote; then soak it in lime lixivium water for 8 hours.

Step 2 : After that time, rinse well and let it drain so it remains dry.

Step 3 : Next, cook it in a deep container, dissolving the tapa candy into 2 cups of water, and let it simmer for 12 hours.

Step 4 : Be careful to prevent it from sticking.

Step 5 : Once soft and preserved, remove from heat.

Step 6 : Let it cool.
