Preparation

Step 1 : To prepare these exquisite milk banana empanadas, start by cutting each banana into four equal parts.

Step 2 : In a deep bowl, pour five cups of water and add the sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.

Step 3 : Cook this mixture over medium heat for about half an hour, until the bananas are cooked.

Step 4 : Once cooked, let them cool.

Step 5 : In another container, add the milk and cornstarch gradually, making sure to dissolve them properly.

Step 6 : Add a little sugar, being careful not to make it too sweet.

Step 7 : Add one teaspoon of vanilla and another of ground cinnamon.

Step 8 : Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens, starts to boil, and then let it cool.

Step 9 : Then, mash the cooked bananas with a fork until achieving a smooth, homogeneous dough.

Step 10 : With this dough, form small tortillas and add the cooled, thick milk mixture inside.

Step 11 : Seal the tortillas like envelopes, pinching the edges well so the filling doesn’t escape.

Step 12 : Next, fry each empanada in hot oil until golden.

Step 13 : Once ready, you can sprinkle a little sugar on top before serving.
