Tomato Cream
Ingredients
12 Tomatoes
2 Garlic cloves
½ Onion
1 Cilantro sprig
1 cup of Milk
4 cups of Chicken broth
½ tablespoon of Cumin
Sugar
1 pinch of Salt
Oil
Preparation
Step 1 : Finely chop the garlic, onion, and cilantro, then sauté them with oil in a skillet.
Step 2 : Meanwhile, place the 12 tomatoes in a pot with water and boil until cooked, adding a tablespoon of sugar.
Step 3 : Once ready, remove the tomatoes and let them cool, then peel and cut them into small pieces.
Step 4 : In a pot, combine the 4 cups of chicken broth, 1 cup of water, the prepared sofrito, and the chopped tomatoes.
Step 5 : Let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
Step 6 : Then add 1 cup of milk, ½ teaspoon of cumin, and salt to taste, stirring well until the soup thickens.
Step 7 : The soup is ready to serve hot and can be accompanied by delicious Salvadoran tortillas.
